Consultant, People and Culture – Cape Town, South Africa

What you’ll be doing: 

As a Consultant, People and Culture for TTEC South Africa, you will serve as a strategic HR partner to business leaders within South Africa, helping align people strategies in country with regional business goals. You’ll be responsible for driving talent initiatives that enable performance, engagement, and compliance across a complex and diverse footprint. You will act as a trusted advisor, organizational change agent, and cultural ambassador while navigating cross-border requirements and best practices.

You will proactively support the delivery of HR processes by leading change management projects, actively supporting discussions and transfer of best practices from various functions of the organization. You will proactively identify people solutions that will enhance bottom line results and improve employee related gross margin.

What you’ll bring to us:

•    Have significant experience in South African employment legislation, including experience dealing with the CCMA.
•    Stay current on legislative updates (e.g., labor codes, union regulations, data privacy laws like GDPR) and cascade changes to business leaders. Ensure compliance with local employment laws, labor inspection requirements, and audit-readiness standards.
•    Partner with Legal and local HR reps to manage sensitive and escalated ER matters, grievances, performance issues, and termination risk mitigation.
•    Actively contribute to South African transformation projects, including actively identifying gaps, propose and develop and implement solutions and changes as necessary.
•    Build trusted relationships with key leaders at multiple levels within each supported business unit. Effectively partner with and leverage corporate support teams. 
•    Serve as a strategic advisor to functional and operational leaders, aligning people priorities with business goals.
•    Coach leaders on navigating South African legislation, cultural sensitivities, and implemented changes.
•    Support local HR reps, ensuring successful execution of people programs (e.g., performance reviews, compensation planning, talent reviews) while localizing to country needs.
•    Deliver company driven People and Culture solutions to challenges affecting the success of the business. 
•    Create positive and inclusive employee experience in hybrid, remote, and on-site environments.
•    Drive cultural integration efforts, employee communications, and leadership alignment across multilingual, multicultural teams.
•    Support internal communications strategies during change or crisis response.

What skills you’ll need:
•    Recent experience in a similar role ideally within a BPO Contact Center. Bachelor’s Degree 
•    5+ years experience as a business partner or HR Manager providing operations support 
•    Working knowledge of various office software applications, online communication tools and database technology 
•    Ability to influence others by example, coaching, and mentoring 
•    Strong organizational development, project management and change management skills 
•    Strong e-mail and oral communication skills 
•    High level of integrity and judgment
