MP&L Operations Co-ordinator
Position Summary
This role will work within the FCS (Ford Component Sales) MP&L and Purchasing Teams in Dunton, UK, as an MP&L Operations Co-ordinator. The role is responsible for supporting end-to-end material planning, parts scheduling, logistics coordination, and supplier management activities to ensure the timely and efficient movement of automotive components across the supply chain.
The position will utilise internal Ford systems including CMMS, SNC, SAP, and Salesforce to coordinate parts supply activities, monitor order fulfilment, manage inbound logistics, and support operational continuity. The role requires close collaboration with suppliers, Ford plants, FCSD, warehouse operations, consolidators, purchasing, and logistics providers to ensure material availability and on-time delivery performance.
The successful candidate will support operational planning activities, resolve supply chain issues, maintain accurate system data, and contribute to continuous improvement across MP&L processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate material planning and logistics activities to support customer and operational requirements.
- Create, order, and schedule automotive parts using Ford internal systems and global supplier networks.
- Monitor supplier deliveries and follow up on non-shipped or delayed parts with suppliers, FCSD, and Ford plants.
- Analyse supply routes and sourcing feasibility using internal systems to determine the most effective operational solution based on cost, lead time, and logistics considerations.
- Liaise closely with Purchasing, suppliers, warehouse operations, consolidators, and logistics providers to ensure continuity of supply.
- Manage inbound logistics activities through third-party carriers to ensure timely delivery of materials to warehouse operations in the UK and Germany.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse operations teams to ensure material receipt, processing, and outbound fulfilment activities meet customer due dates.
- Investigate and resolve inbound and outbound material issues including shortages, overages, shipping discrepancies, and delivery delays.
- Maintain and update internal systems and databases including Salesforce, SAP, SNC, CMMS, and order tracking systems to ensure data accuracy.
- Ensure all operational documentation and system transactions are completed accurately and in accordance with FCS and Ford processes.
- Support customs and export documentation requirements for UK and EU shipments where required.
- Produce operational and supply chain reports to support departmental performance tracking and decision-making.
- Maintain departmental procedures and support annual compliance and process review activities including Ford AFR requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain, logistics, and operational processes.
- Provide general administrative and operational support across the MP&L and Purchasing functions.
- Carry out ad hoc operational duties as required.
Experience
- Previous experience within MP&L, supply chain, logistics, operations coordination, or administration is essential.
- Automotive industry or automotive parts experience is beneficial.
- Ford experience is beneficial.
- Experience using Ford systems including SAP, SNC, CMMS, WIPS, SIM, and Salesforce is advantageous.
- Knowledge of material planning, logistics, purchasing, or supply chain operations is desirable.
- Customs and export knowledge desirable but not essential.
Education
- A-level educated, or equivalent experience, is required.
Skills

- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Proactive approach with strong problem-solving capability.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internal operational systems.
