What You’ll Do –
Looking for an opportunity to contribute to accurate and efficient financial operations, the Billing Operations Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end billing and revenue recognition processes for an assigned portfolio of customer accounts. This role ensures invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant with contractual terms, while supporting revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and applicable accounting standards. The Analyst partners closely with Operations, Finance, and Accounting to maintain data integrity, resolve billing discrepancies, and support audit requirements within Oracle Projects and related systems.
During a Typical Day, You’ll –
Invoicing & Billing Operations
- Analyze and interpret complex customer contracts to translate billing terms into accurate and compliant invoice structures.
- Partner with Operations teams to obtain, clarify, and validate underlying data supporting billing calculations and program performance.
- Ensure all billable items are captured, recorded, and invoiced in accordance with contract terms and internal controls.
Revenue Recognition & Oracle Projects
- Review customer contracts and Oracle Projects setups to ensure proper configuration for billing and revenue recognition.
- Generate and record monthly revenue entries within Oracle Projects and related systems based on validated operational and financial data.
- Analyze revenue results at the project level to ensure completeness, accuracy, and alignment with contractual terms and accounting policies.
- Investigate and resolve variances between expected and actual revenue, partnering with Operations and Finance to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Support compliance with revenue recognition standards (e.g., ASC 606) through consistent application of policies and procedures.(enhanced for completeness)
Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, including SOX control testing and quarterly audit requests.
What You Bring to the Role
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience
- 1-2 years’ experience with complex billing and/or financial analysis experience required
- Advanced Excel experience required
- Oracle Business Suite experience preferred
- Ability to interpret complex contracts
- Strong analytical abilities
- Very strong English written and oral communication skills
Work Arrangement:
- Willing to work on a graveyard shift following EST hours
- Primarily remote work setup, with site visits required as needed.
