Thousands of Hearts Beat As One For TTEC India Wellness Initiative

For over 20 years, the TTEC Ahmedabad team has brought thousands of people together to walk for wellness and raised a million dollars for their community. This year’s 2024 Wellness Walk was no different. Last February 18th (Sunday), the 22nd TTEC Annual Wellness Walk 2024 was held in Ahmedabad with the Lablhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering Grounds as the starting and finish line. Around 4,000 participants – a mix of employees, friends, family, TTEC partners, and university students – joined the successful event.

Health and wellness at the surface; community building activities at the core

Health awareness is a key message of this activity, where people could participate in a 4-km walk or a 7.5-km run. It’s a wellness initiative that goes beyond fitness; it’s an event for social impact.

TTEC India’s Annual Wellness Walk raises funds for various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working on social and environmental issues that affect underserved people in society.

This year, TTEC India partnered with NGOs Gujarat Rajya Gram Vikas Samiti, Manav Gulzar, New Way Educational and Rural Development Trust, and Utkarsh. Through registrations from individuals and corporate sponsors, the event raised an impressive INR 41.46 Lakh. TTEC matched this amount by donating INR 42 Lakh (50K USD) to raise a total of INR 83.46 Lakh (100K USD) for the said NGOs.

Of employees, by employees, for employees (and society)

A big part of TTEC India’s culture is empowering employees to live life passionately and make a difference in society. We love doing our customer service jobs but we're about more than that. Fundraising to support development work and leaving a positive mark in the community has become a big part of the TTEC experience.

Shweta of TTEC India shares: “Many of our employees contribute to this walk by volunteering, dancing, doing photography or choreography. The event is undoubtedly managed by employees ourselves. Helping transform people’s lives gives us immense joy and peace.”

Engaging our corporate community

But, the Wellness Walk isn’t just an employee engagement initiative either. It welcomes the active participation of our external partners, who significantly contributed to the raised funds for 2024.

Some of those partners attended the event itself too, which opened great opportunities for everyone to meet new people and expand their network. TTEC India is grateful to those corporate partners who took part in one of our wellness initiatives.

Community bonding through social change

Bringing people together to help spark change is a celebration of positivity and generosity. You could feel the energy and the togetherness of participants at the event.

“The atmosphere is filled with vibrant energy,” shares Charvi of TTEC India, “…with school bands, dancers, and singers motivating participants throughout the event. Witnessing thousands of people along with their families and friends walk for a meaningful cause together is truly captivating.”

There was an exciting Zumba dance session, an enjoyable walk and run, and a fun awarding ceremony. Laughter and smiles filled the streets as participants embarked on this special walk for charity.

Turning individual passion into communal goals

Living a shared purpose with your colleagues can be inspiring and unifying. Biju P., VP for Operations in TTEC India, explains how the Wellness Walk has created an employee engagement initiative built on a collective passion for giving:

“For the last 21 years, we’ve been organizing this walk. We’ve raised over 1.7 million dollars benefiting around 70 different NGOs. We’ve had wonderful community support over the years. As a group, we’ve always wanted to make a difference, and this event is an amazing platform to come together and do that.”

Left to Right: Biju Pillai (VP, Operations), Chandana Reddy (VP for Human Capital), Pragnya Mohan (India’s leading triathlete), Ramnish Awasthi (Executive Director, Operations), Dharmendra Kumar (Executive Director, Finance) and Kruti Patel (Director, Service Delivery).

At TTEC, we work and walk with a purpose. The company likes empowering employees to find success in their careers and live fulfilling lives outside of it through health and wellness, community building activities, and more.
