Sr. Systems Engineer - Microsoft

Position Summary :
The Sr. Systems Engineer will be primarily responsible for design, build, deployment and maintenance of Microsoft infrastructure and virtualization technologies. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server 2008/12/16, Active Directory, Exchange Server, Skype for Business, Azure AD and O365. Additional skills and experience with VBS and PowerShell Scripting languages, LDAP, TCP/IP, NTP, DNS, IIS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP, SSL, XMPP, Hyper-V, and VMware are also required. The individual must take ownership of incident and problem management to meet or exceed established service level agreements. The individual must interact with internal, customer, and third-party teams for configuration, integration and deployment activities. 
Sr. Systems Engineer Duties & Responsibilities will include :

•        Provide design, engineering, and technical expertise regarding integration of new and existing technology into IT systems architecture

•        Engineer cost effective and functionally best practice focused Windows server based solutions

•        Interface with internal, customer, and third-party teams for configuration, integration and deployment activities and projects

•        Provide Tier-3 support for all Windows based systems and services (Exchange/O365, SCCM, Skype for Business, SharePoint, AD, DNS, DHCP)

•        Design and develop support tools, infrastructure monitoring capabilities, and automation of deployment/troubleshooting routines

•        Consolidate and aggregate data from disparate systems to provide intelligence that proactively addresses infrastructure capacity and utilization concerns

•        Develop and maintain comprehensive support documentation targeted to multiple operational levels (Tier 1 through 3)

•        Develop script based solutions utilizing Microsoft PowerShell and VBS scripting languages

•        Implement best practice security measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of customer data

•        Conduct routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies and configuration guidelines

•        Document, schedule, conduct and test system changes in accordance with operational guidelines
Basic Qualifications :

•        BA/BS in CS/IS or related degree or equivalent experience

•        4-6 years of expertise installing, configuring and maintaining Windows Server 2008/2012/2016

•        4 or more years’ experience supporting Microsoft Exchange Server and Skype for Business in a multi-domain, enterprise environment

•        Current Microsoft Certified IT Professional or MCSE

•        Experience with server virtualization, specifically VMware vSphere and MS Hyper-V

•        Strong and demonstrated experience with automated deployment platforms and scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.)

•        Detailed understanding of advanced Windows Services including : Remote Desktop Services, IIS, DNS, DHCP

•        Experience designing and implementing Windows Server 2012/2016 Failover Clustering

•        Experience with Microsoft Systems Center or other endpoint management suites

•        Demonstrated expertise in Active Directory and group policy management

•        Understanding of Shared Storage, Replication, load balancing, and LAN/WAN Technologies

•        Experience with compliance and audit processes, SOX, SAS 70/SSEA 16, HIPAA and PCI requirements

•        Understanding of IT service management frameworks such as ITIL

•        Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery strategies

•        Experience with internal and customer facing project management and collaborative project efforts
