The Assistant Corporate Controller is a key leadership role in TTEC (formerly TeleTech)’s Global Accounting team, responsible for managing many of the day to day accounting functions to produce timely and accurate financial statements for a growing publicly traded company. Reporting to the VP of Accounting, the Assistant Corporate Controller is responsible for ensuring that appropriate controls and procedures are in place and operating effectively to comply with internal control and financial statement audit requirements. We are looking for a self-starter with high integrity, a strong work ethic, and a great attitude. The Assistant Corporate Controller will work directly with senior management in support of business acquisitions and other U.S. GAAP accounting issues.
 
What you’ll bring to us

  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly close process, including USD translation, intercompany, consolidations, and eliminations
  • Plan, develop and implement effective accounting strategies in accordance with evolving regulatory, legal and governmental requirements and industry trends
  • Maintain the integrity of the internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act
  • Develop and monitor effective accounting policies and procedures for the company
  • Assist with process improvement efforts including streamlining close process and continuing improvements to ERP system
  • Help manage reporting functions, including preparation of financial statements, assistance with internal reporting, and preparation of Audit Committee schedules
  • Serve as a central point of contact for annual audit with internal and external auditors
  • Assist with M&A due diligence and purchase accounting activities
  • Provide technical accounting support, as needed, in complex accounting areas such revenue recognition, tax accounting, and purchase accounting. This includes working with the various departments to implement agreed-upon resolutions


  • Coach and develop domestic and international team members, including establishing annual goals and monitoring progress and achievement of results
  • Review work performed by team members to ensure accuracy, identify and resolve issues and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and make recommendations to improve company profitability
  • Design and implement multi-dimensional reporting framework for USGAAP and local jurisdictional statutory ledgers
  • Solid ability to discuss tax strategy in an international environment with business leadership
  • Strong experience in working with different financial systems
  • Strong ability to communicate complex areas of accounting with business

 
What skills you’ll need :

  • CPA required
  • Large, international, public company experience with experience in the following areas : close processes, inter-company transfer pricing, currency conversion, tax, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance
  • Experience with a Big 4 audit firm preferred
  • Strong U.S. GAAP experience and understanding, especially in the areas of Business Combinations
  • Results oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload while performing multiple tasks
  • Detailed oriented in execution of work
  • Adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrate a high level of customer service
  • Ability to motivate and influence others toward a common goal
  • Strong business acumen and judgement and acute problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal skills), the ability to interact with all levels of management throughout the organization and the initiative to get the job done
  • Experience in motivating and managing local and remote teams
